June 2022 Show Survey & Newsletter
We need your input!
We finally heard back from the Sunnyvale Community Center Theater letting us know that the weekend of June 11-12 is now available for booking.
Now is a critical time for us to make a decision regarding if we will put on a June Show or postpone it again. There are multiple factors at play, and we want everyone to be fully aware of what it would take to make this happen before we ask for everyone’s commitment.
First of all, with the audience capacity set at 200, we are limited to 2 or 3 shows depending on how many performers decide to participate.
In addition to this and perhaps more importantly, due to lower attendance than normal, each student or family will be required to sell a minimum of 5 tickets. This means that families will need to sell at least 5 tickets total, not individually. You would also be responsible for the cost of any unsold tickets at $20 apiece, is in addition to the annual recital fee of $55. If you were to cover the cost of all five tickets and the recital fee, your total would be $155. This is truly the only way we would be able to have a show in a theater this year.
Masks must be worn by dancers and audience members at all times, even while you are performing. Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test is also required of anyone entering the theater. With this being such a late start for us, costumes may not be as extravagant as normal. Never fear though, your dancing will be enough! You will shine no matter what!
If you are not comfortable with this, we also have the option of either waiting longer to perform later in the fall, or simply just waiting yet another year. I know most of you are eager to perform and get back on that stage, but we want to do what is best for everyone. The show dates would be June 11 & 12. Dancers must perform in all shows and attend the Mandatory Dress Rehearsal on June 10.
To more efficiently collect everyone’s responses, we are asking that every individual or family complete the google form found through this link: https://forms.gle/ar8biQBzdosdnm6w5
If you are unable to access the form by clicking the link here, please copy and paste the address into your browser. We will also be sharing this link on our Facebook page and on the studio’s website.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT I HEAR BACK FROM YOU ASAP, no later than January 22.
As always, I love you all so much and am very thankful you are still dancing at my studio through this craziness. My faculty and I appreciate all of you! If you’re in, we’re in! If not, then we just keep on dancing and look forward to our next performance when things lighten up!
Love,
Tude
